    I can dump anything you need from the printer if needed (if you don’t have the printer), I might even have the tools needed if you need to read/dump the bios (or whatever you use to read / change the cartridge checks) by solder points. I also micro solder / I’m good in assembly code and reverse engineering software programs.

     

    let me know if somehow I can help to finally stop buying these expensive cartridges.

    Unfortunately we don’t have solution for this model yet.

    The original firmware of your printer cannot be downgraded to earlier version. Please, follow the instructions below.

    The firmware, which you need to use:

    Algorithm for solving the problem:

    1) Check and memorize current firmware version of your printer.

    2) Start installing the firmware in the Firmware Mode (by pressing a certain button combinations)

    3) When the firmware installation reaches 100%  you need to disconnect the power cable from your printer.

    Wait for about 10 seconds and then plug the cable in. A message will appear on your printer screen, saying that the printer is in Recovery Mode.

    4) Start installing the Inkchip firmware again, wait for the firmware to load, your printer will shut down. Turn your printer on.

    5) Check your printer's firmware version. It must be different. This means that the process was successful.

    6) Now you need to use the Activation Program from our website and activate it with the key.

    After the activation you have to reboot your printer.

    The chipless firmware is installed on your printer!

    This is just an example of the process, it does not matter which model of printer you have.

    Hi!

    In the video guide it shows that you don't need it to load 100%. When the load gets stuck at 75-90%, that's okay! You will need to pull the cable out at that point and put it back in.

    Then turn the printer on just using the power button.

    You must install the firmware in normal mode.

    To install the firmware in normal mode means to use only the power button.

    You should install the Chipless Firmware in NORMAL mode instead of UPDATE mode.

    Please try this updated file with the Chipless Firmware:

    1) Upload the Chipless Firmware which is attached above.

    2) Turn on the printer in the NORMAL MODE (using only the power button). Do not put the printer in the UPDATE MODE.

    The loading process will get stuck at 75-85% - that is OK.

    3) With the use of the task manager stop the loading process.

    Printer will blink for about 5-15 minutes . It should then turn off automatically.

    4) Now turn on the printer - Chipless Firmware should be installed!

    5) Run the Activation Software to insert your Activation Key.

I use this printer with my Omen Hewlett Packard workstation strictly with the USB cable. I have not experienced any issues printing content unless the cartridges were empty. In this instance all the cartridges are full with the exception of the 802XL Black cartridge and it is at 50%. The reason for the firmware change is I hate having to change out color cartridges just to print in black and white. Also, I could be mistaken but I think I heard that Epson changed their firmware to not allow non Epson updates to be applied. Have you heard this? Could this be the reason your firmware will not work with my printer? The firmware on my printer was recently updated by Epson and is now displaying version CM27J5.

     

    Just to be clear, I power cycle the printer and then try to apply your firmware update. I have done this twice with the same result. I do not touch the printer at anytime during the update.

    Stop the boot process at 75-85% through the task manager. Don’t let it get 99% and error.

    Make sure that Microsoft Visual C++ x64 and x86 packages are version 2017-2022, but not earlier. Make sure the program is reloaded and no longer hangs.

    You need to put it in the pop up window after the clicking on the activation online button.

    Hello! Start the Chipless firmware installation in Normal Mode (pressing the power button). Don’t put the printer in Update Mode with key combination.
