Epson WF 2830

Updated the firmware last night and bam. Not allowing my aftermarket print cartridges to be recognized anymore. Found Ink-chip.net,, Downloaded the Chip-less firmware and activation software.  When I go to install the firmware software it comes back with error "( Could not find files to start)".  Whats up with this?  Id like to fix my printer but it seems like this is a 1/2 written program and not working well for anyone.  Current firmware version on Epson WF2830 is AL2213.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hello!

To extract a file you need to use any archiver. For example, WinRAR or other unzipping program.

Im sorry this does not make sense.

It will not update the firmware when it is in Normal mode.

My printer is the XP-2150. The firmware program always gets stuck at 99% even if I unplug the printer then turn it back on. I always run it on regular mode and the program on administrator mode with antivirus turned off. This makes no sense..

I have the same problem to my XP-235 series. I tried the firmware and thru the program update mode. Then in activation, it says read failed -1.

I tried then with your process doing it normally not on program update mode, but the firmware can't install be installed.

1) Upload the Chipless Firmware which is attached above.

 

2) Turn on the printer in the NORMAL MODE (using only the power button). Do not put the printer in the UPDATE MODE.

 

The loading process will get stuck at 75-85% - that is OK.

 

3) With the use of the task manager stop the loading process.

 

Printer will blink for about 5-15 minutes . It should then turn off automatically.

 

4) Now turn on the printer - Chipless Firmware should be installed!

 

5) Run the Activation Software to insert your Activation Key.

Hello. I have tried the above method, but still,  it says reading failed. The moment I use the activation software. Also, the normal mode does not work. It gets stuck as early as 14% and says that it does not detect the printer (unless in UPDATE MODE). Is there any workaround regarding this problem?
