What is your printer model?
Make sure you have turned off the printer's network connection to your computer and are only using a usb connection.

EPSON XP235A, and yes, only thru USB mode we're doing the firmware. And yet, we still encounter this problem all the time.

Try the same procedure on the another device. 
And make sure your connection is stable.

By the way, I think I forgot to disclose this. In the initial work. months ago mighe be on September, it did work, for 3months, until an Epson Software/Firmware Update took place. Being the auto-updater automatically turned on, and a relative haphazardly confirming to proceed with the update. This I believe is the main reason as to why firmware for infinite ink was overwritten. 

However, what I don't understand is by even flashing the printer's firmware with the provided software, it encounters the problem mentioned above "readingh failed."

I've also followed all directed techniques, to no avail.

You need to load the firmware without the chip and activate it with the recovery code, did you save it?

You can repair chipless firmware with recovery code which was generated during flashing.

Oh, so removing the ink cartridges first. But what if we forgot to save the recovery code. Is there a chance for it to work?

Please try this updated file with the Chipless Firmware:

1) Upload the Chipless Firmware which is attached above.

2) Turn on the printer in the NORMAL MODE (using only the power button). Do not put the printer in the UPDATE MODE.

The loading process will get stuck at 75-85% - that is OK.

3) With the use of the task manager stop the loading process.

Printer will blink for about 5-15 minutes . It should then turn off automatically.

4) Now turn on the printer - Chipless Firmware should be installed!

5) Run the Activation Software to insert your Activation Key.

Let me know the result!

1) Upload firmware which I sent. 

2) Switch on in normal mode(!!!) just turn on button . - dont put printer in Program Update mode.

 (No need to press few buttons while turn on the printer) 

The uploading process will stuck at 70-80% - it is ok! Open task manager and stop updater process. Printer will blink for about 5-15 minutes - then will power OFF. 

Now power on the printer - chipless firmware is installed in your printer!

Saludos, tengo el mismo problema que se menciona antes al momento de continuar el proceso de activación el programa muestra un mensaje "Read Failed -1"

al momento de cargarlo con la impresora en modo normal, la actualización solo llega al 14% y muestra un mensaje donde dice que no puede continuar con la actualización

2) Encienda la impresora en el MODO NORMAL (usando solo el botón de encendido). No ponga la impresora en el MODO DE ACTUALIZACIÓN.

El proceso de carga se atascará en un 75-85 %, eso está bien.

3) Con el uso del administrador de tareas, detenga el proceso de carga.

La impresora parpadeará durante unos 5-15 minutos. Luego debería apagarse automáticamente.

4) Ahora encienda la impresora. ¡Se debe instalar el firmware sin chip!

5) Ejecute el software de activación para insertar su clave de activación.

When it reaches 99% nothing happens during 5-10 minutes and a message saying that the firware is not installed finally appears. Printer is On and connected.

I tried to unplugged the cordon when 99% is reached but the problem remains the same.

Please, can you help me ?

Stop the boot process at 75-85% through the task manager. Don’t let it get 99% and error.

Efectivo el procedimiento de instalar la V1 del firmware que el ADMINISTRADOR recomienda en esta página, todo el proceso me funcionó para epson XP 241, incluso esperé a que terminará de cargar y me dijo que no se podía cargar el firmware, pero la apagué y si lo tomó y ya la pude recuperar con la llave de recuperación, gracias.

You should convince that installed the Chipless Firmware in NORMAL mode instead of UPDATE mode.
