Hi! Epson releases new versions of their printers firmware. So if customer using compatible cartridges or CISS, it is better to turn off the automatic updates of the printer software. These updates often have no benefit to the end user and bring trouble to cartridges by making them unrecognisable by the printer once the update has been installed. So please follow the instruction how to turn off automatic Epson firmware update. Right-click the product icon in the Windows taskbar to reveal the menu, then choose Software Update Settings. And please choose update frequencies to Never. You need to check this on all Windows computers that have the Epson printer software installed.

You could use recovery code which was generated by activation software when you activate it before. If you didn't save it, you need to buy new code.

Do you use CISS or cartridges for printing? Try to put old cartridges with Chips inside. Printer needs chips to be installed before update.

Denni, you can download firmware for free form the site. But you need to buy activation code for each printer you want to update.

You don't need to reinstall our firmware when you ciss is empty. You only need to turn off epson updates to prevent it from updating. As for buying CISS, you don't need to buy it first. You can use use our firmware with cartridges too. Printer will show you 100% ink level all the time and you won't be needed to reset chip on cartridges only keep it full. But of course the full potential of our chipless solution is with CISS.

Hello Dexter, with our chipless solution you won't need to reset your CISS. After installing our firmware your printer will always show that it has FULL ink inside. You don't need to use chips in CISS and you don't need to reset it, only check ink level to avoid printing with no inks.
