Firmware and activation

My wife purchased the firmware and activation for a wf-2830. The firmware gets to 99 percent then errors out. When she runs the activation program there is no activation key. Just serial number and I’d code. What is going on?

How did you download your firmware because I click the download button and it downloads as an e internet file and does nothing?
