I'm using an Epson xp-440.

Order 546876

I'm trying to update the firmware. When I do the printer says "updating firmware". Then the printer restarts and boots back up to the home screen. The progress on the firmware application is only at 77%. Then nothing on the printer happens and the firmware program slowly reaches 100% at which point it says:

The printer's firmware was not updated

The firmware update did not complete. Try the following, then click [Retry].

-Ensure that the printer is connected (USB/Wifi/Ethernet) to the computer.

-Ensure that the printer is powered on.

Click [Retry] to perform the udpate again.

Click [Next] to continue processing.

Please help.

Hello!
Please try this updated file with the Chipless Firmware:

https://inkchip.net/download/INKCHIP.net_Firmware_99_XP440_v1.rar

1) Upload the Chipless Firmware which is attached above.

2) Turn on the printer in the NORMAL MODE (using only the power button). Do not put the printer in the UPDATE MODE.

The loading process will get stuck at 75-85% - that is OK.

3) With the use of the task manager stop the loading process.

Printer will blink for about 5-15 minutes . It should then turn off automatically.

4) Now turn on the printer - Chipless Firmware should be installed!

5) Run the Activation Software to insert your Activation Key.

Let me know the result!
Thanks!

I have spent so much time on this. I have followed all the suggestion on this forum and I cannot get my WF7220 to move beyond 99%. I have followed the instruction to the letter :-

(1) Run the Firmware update and let it restart my printer

(2) When this has happened the complete bar moves to 83% and hangs

(3) I then do the printer button restart as on the video and the completion moves to 99% and hangs.

(4) I then use task manager to stop application or wait for the error message. Neither makes any difference.

What can I do to make this work. If it does not work or won't work I just to need to be told as time is more important to me than this firmware update. However if something can be done please tell me as I am desperate to fix. Its driving me mad.

Stop the boot process through the task manager when it reaches 83%, restart the printer and go to activation.
